Kim and I generally end up watching the same TV channels over and over: Food Network, Discovery, SciFi (never calling it SyFy, trademark be damned), and the Travel Channel. The other night on the travel channel, we saw a segment about the Heart Attack Grill.
The grill is themed as a hospital, and they do quirky things like make their hooters-esque servers take your temperature / heart-rate before you can get your meal. They feature multi-layered burgers known as the “x-bypass” where x is the number of burgers stuffed in between the bun.
While mildly disgusted, I understand the whole “try to make the biggest / unhealthiest thing possible” mindset. Give someone a stupid goal and they’ll reach it. That’s why I quite like Man v. Food. I watch that guy attempt to eat some seriously disgusting concoctions and I’m generally willing to cheer him on.
The thing that really pushed the Heart Attack Grill over the edge for me however, is summarized by this photograph. Apparently they have a deal where people weighing over 350 lbs eat for free. Wow. Rewarding morbid obesity seems insane to me. Rewarding morbid obesity with free food seems like euthanasia.
It’s okay though, because if you eat one of their quadruple bypass burgers, your fat ass gets wheeled out by one of the hot servers all the way to your car!
For an added bonus, check out this Dateline video about how the restaurant almost got shut down for referring to their servers as “nurses.”
Would you eat one of these things?

Yes, unfortunately you do. However, if the photograph is representative, you get to weigh yourself while holding a 2lb burger.
